Video - Insanity Sauce Challenge

Ok, beer does not help when you're trying to quench the fire. What you need is a big glas of lassi.

The guy is putting up a good act, but you can see him start to sweat and cry.

But he takes it a lot better than my friend at lunch with the Dave's Insanity Sauce on his sub.

Insanity Sauce at Lunch

There's a Firehouse subs near where I work and today that was our lunch spot.

One of the wonderful things about Firehouse subs is that they have a very large selection of hot sauces, including Dave's Insanity Sauce.

I suggested to one of the guys that fancies himself a conniseur of hot foods that he should try some Insanity Sauce on his sub. Most chilliheads would scoff at what he calls hot -- he considers Texas Pete on his barbeque as living on the edge.

So he dumped the Dave's Insanity Sauce on his sandwhich like it was ketchup. I mean really slathered it on. It was enough that I was a bit taken aback.

Let's just say you could see the steam coming out of his ears.

The Hottest Hot Sauces

Here's an interesting site. It shows a scale of hot sauces, from Blair's 16 Million Reserve down to Tabasco sauce.

I'm not sure I believe that Not Cool Chocolate Habanero comes in at 225K Scovilles. I've had that in fairly large amounts and it just didn't seem that hot.

Dave's Ultimate Insanity Sauce shows up at 250K, and I think it's a little hotter than that. Dave's Insanity Sauce comes in around that heat level, or so it seems.
